Four Former Men's Lax Standouts To Play in MLL All Star Game Saturday on ESPN2

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- Four former America East men's lacrosse standouts will play in the 2012 Major League Lacrosse game Saturday at FAU Stadium in Palm Beach County, Fla. The four all-stars, Brendan Mundorf (UMBC), Peet Poillon (UMBC), Brett Queener (Albany) and Drew Westervelt (UMBC), have earned combined to earn 12 career all-star citations.

Mundorf, a two-time America East Player of the Year for the Retrievers, will be participating in his sixth MLL All-Star Game. The Denver Outlaws attacker currently ranks second in the league with 5.2 points per game thus far in the 2012 season, scoring 17 goals and adding 14 assists in just six games.

Poillon, a first-team all-America East attacker during his lone season at UMBC, is making his third straight all star appearance, all with Denver. He is tied for seventh in the league with nine assists is tied for 13th with 21 points.

Queener, a two-time America East first teamer, is an all star for the third time. The Toronto National ranks sixth in the league with a 14.76 goals-against average.

Westervelt, a three-time All-America East selection at UMBC, is also an all star for the third time. In his first season with the Chesapeake Bayhawks, Westervelt ranks 11th among league leaders with 23 points, is tied for ninth with nine assists and is tied for 13th with 14 goals.

The game, which will be televised nationally on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m., will feature a Young Guns vs. Old School format. Players who joined the league between 2001 and 2008 will compete for the Old School team while players who joined between 2009 and 2012 will compete for the Young Guns. Mundorf and Queener will suit up for the Old School squad while Pollion and Westervelt will dress for the Young Guns.
