The Seawolves (52-14) face off against Florida State (48-16) Sunday evening in a must-win game if Stony Brook wants to extend its stay in Omaha. Both teams fell to the losers' bracket after losses on Friday, including Stony Brook's 9-1 loss to No. 2 overall seed UCLA.
Sunday's game doesn't get any easier after facing UCLA on Friday -- the Seminoles are the No. 3 overall seed in this year's NCAA bracket and have breezed through the tournament up until Friday. Florida State won three straight games in the Regional, and then swept Stanford in the Super Regional, which included a 17-1 shellacking of arguably the nation's top pitcher in Mark Appel.
The Orlando Sentinel, Omaha.com, Newsday and ESPN.com all have previews of Sunday's match up.
Tonight's game will be on ESPN2, ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN apps.

The Seawolves are quickly becoming Omaha's favorite team
As we sit about a couple of hours out from the Stony Brook - UCLA
matchup at 5 ET on ESPN2, it's still unbelievable to fathom how the
Seawolves have created such a media frenzy over the last week. The media
frenzy as transformed into a fan frenzy as these young men are becoming
fan favorites overnight with a Tyler Johnson or Travis Jankowski
autograph being the hot item this week in Omaha.
As Aaron Fitt from Baseball America writes, "Yes, it's fair to say the Seawolves are an Omaha sensation—and the first pitch hasn't even been thrown in the 2012 CWS."

Baseball Putting The University In the Spotlight
The Stony Brook Athletic Department is putting the Long Island University on the map.
“They’ve become red-hot,” said Scott Middleton, the president of the
Stony Brook alumni association board. “There’s no other way to put it.
They’re really the front porch for the university.”
A New York Times article this week delved into the success of Seawolves' athletics,
but as Middleton's comment to the Times alludes to, the department was
the face of the University even before the recent run to the College
World Series by its baseball team, a fact that us here at the America
East office certainly already noticed. To read more about the year of the Seawolf over at AEXtra.

The Seawolves' baseball team arrived in Omaha on Wednesday for the program's first-ever College World Series, beginning with a 5 p.m. ET matchup against UCLA on Friday at TD Ameritrade Stadium.
Stony Brook participated in media and practice day on Thursday. Read more about the day at the park at AExtra here and get a behind the scenes look at the ESPN portion of the day with this video. Head Coach Matt Senk also participated in a press conference with the other three coaches in Stony Brook's side of the bracket. Those press conference quotes can be found here.
On Wednesday junior outfielder Travis Jankowski earned NCBWA First-Team All-American honors as he leads the Seawolves into the College World Series. Jankowski tops the lineup with a .422 batting average, but six other Seawolves also have averages north of .300, and two others sit at .296.
