STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Eight America East softball all-conference selections received all-region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Thursday afternoon.

Three of those selections earned first-team honors. America East Player of the Year Charlise Castro, the league leader in hitting (.468), home runs (13) and RBIs (52), was a first-team Northeast Region selection along with the conference's first-team catcher EmJ Fogel from Maine. UMBC's Jessica Warner, the America East first-team third baseman, was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region first-team squad.

Boston University's Holli Floetker, Jayme Mask and Megan Volpano were second-team Northeast Region honorees while Stony Brook's Allison Cukrov, the America East Pitcher of the Year and UMBC's Katie Ferguson were second-team Mid-Atlantic choices.

The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to one of three 2012 NFCA Division I All-America teams which will be named on Wednesday, May 30.
