CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Stony Brook University junior centerfielder Travis Jankowski (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) continues his hot streak at the plate during the Seawolves' 10-game winning streak to capture the America East Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. University at Albany left-handed pitcher Sean Lucas (Fishkill, N.Y./Beacon) picks up the Pitcher of the Week award and Seawolf freshman catcher Kevin Krause (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) earns Rookie of the Week honors.

Jankowski repeated as player of the week with a .650 (13-for-20) batting average last week and a 1.200 slugging percentage. The junior scored 10 runs, drove in six more and recorded five extra-base hits including home runs on Saturday and Sunday against UMBC. Jankowski also went six-for-six on stolen base attempts. He had multiple hits in four of the five games including a 4-for-4 performance against Fairfield in a midweek non-conference game.

Jankowski now leads America East with a .390 batting average, 64 hits and 49 runs scored.

Lucas led the Great Danes to a 1-0 extra-inning win over Maine in Orono on Saturday. The lefty went eight innings on the mound, scattering eight hits and striking out six without allowing a run or issuing a walk. Lucas left the game without the decision, but Albany eventually won 1-0 in the tenth inning to sweep the doubleheader.

Lucas has pitched 56 innings for the Great Danes this year with a 4.82 ERA. He leads the team with 43 strikeouts.

Krause hit .353 (6-for-17) in four games last week with three extra base hits. He posted multi-hit games in two of the three conference games and two doubles against UMBC to record a .647 slugging percentage. He also smacked a solo home run in a 4-3 win over Central Connecticut during the week.

Krause ranks fifth in America East batting .340 on the year to go with 32 RBI and 26 runs scored.

Albany (14-27-1, 8-6 AE) went 2-2 on the week, falling in non-conference action at home to Manhattan on Wednesday before taking two of three from Maine on the road over the weekend... The Great Danes were led by Nolan Gaige (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) who hit .375 on the week, including getting five hits in the doubleheader at Maine on Saturday... Senior lefty Sean Lucas (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) went eight innings in the nightcap against the Black Bears on Saturday, scattering eight hits and striking out six, without allowing a run or issuing a walk... Senior reliever Greg Lutton (New Haven, Vt./Mt. Abraham) earned the win in the game after a two inning performance, where he allowed just one hit in six batters faced... Senior righty Zach Kraham (Ghent, N.Y./Chatham) threw a seven-inning complete game in the first game against Maine, scattering three hits and fanning four... Senior Pete DiResta (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) recorded a solo home run against Manhattan on Wednesday... Albany will host Maine in the second three-game series between the two teams this upcoming weekend.

Binghamton (18-18, 9-3 AE) went 3-2 on the week, dropping a midweek non-conference game at Cornell before taking three of four games at Hartford. The Bearcats have won 10 of their last 14 games to even their overall mark for the first time all season after starting 0-6... Binghamton sits in second place in the America East standings, one game in the loss column behind league-leading Stony Brook. The two teams meet this weekend for a three-game series that was originally scheduled to be played at Cornell but will now move to Long Island... Sophomore shortstop John Howell (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) hit .357 for the week with five RBI in the five games... Sophomore second baseman Daniel Nevares (Toa Alta, PR/Monteverde Academy) hit .353 and had an on-base percentage of .421 in the five games... Senior outfielder Dave Ciocchi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) belted a three-run home run to spark an eight-run extra-innings outburst in game three against Hartford and then drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the sixth inning of the seven-inning game 4. Ciocchi is hitting .372 with 13 RBI in his last 12 games... Junior righthander Jake Lambert (La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla) notched his fifth win of the season with eight strong innings against the Hawks. Lambert improved to 4-0 with a 1.24 ERA. In his last three starts - all eight-inning performances - Lambert has allowed just two earned runs in 24 innings.

The Hartford baseball team (10-34, 2-12 AE) finished a five-game week with a 1-4 overall record, dropping a mid-week contest at Rhode Island before finishing 1-3 in a four-game set against the Binghamton Bearcats in the first of three straight weekends of home league games... For the week, the Hawks were led by Simon Kudernatsch (Czech Republic/Prague West) who finished with five hits in 17 at bats for a .294 batting average... Rookie Trey Stover (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) finished the week with four hits in 15 at bats for a .267 batting average while driving in four of Hartford’s nine RBIs last week... Three of Stover’s four hits went for two bases... The Hawks will play six games this week as they travel to Dartmouth on Tuesday (3 p.m.) for the first of back-to-back non conference contests... Following Tuesday’s game, the Hawks will travel 19 minutes from campus to take on the CCSU Blue Devils on Wednesday (3 p.m.)... The Hawks will then host UMBC for a four-game series on Saturday and Sunday with the start time on both days set for 12:00 p.m.

Maine (22-19, 8-4 AE) rebounded after a few losses in a row to defeat Albany 10-0 on Sunday afternoon... It was Maine’s first shutout of the season... Troy Black (Mississauga, Ontario) led the way at-bat as he went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI... Jeffrey Gibbs (Toronto, Ontario) was strong on the mound as he went six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits. He struck out seven... Gibbs has struck out 46 batters in 43.2 innings this season... D.J. Voisine (Plainville, Conn.) went three scoreless innings in relief to earn his first save of the season...Michael Fransoso (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished just shy of a cycle in Maine’s game at UMass last Wednesday. He led off the game with a triple, he doubled to lead off the fifth inning and belted a two-run home run in the seventh inning... Maine committed just one error in four games last week in 148 chances.... Maine has 81 doubles on the season, just eight shy of what it finished with all of last season... Maine and Albany battled through nine scoreless innings in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, before the Great Danes were able to push across a run in the top of the 10th inning... Maine travels to Albany this week for a three-game set with the Great Danes.

UMBC (9-32, 1-13 AE) defeated in-state rival Mount St. Mary’s on Wednesday before dropping all three games to Stony Brook over the weekend… With the win over the Mount during the midweek, the Retrievers earned the season series sweep after claiming a 7-3 win in Emmitsburg, Md. on Mar. 27… In the win, senior Brian Klukowicz (Clifton, N.J./St. Peter’s Prep) went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two home runs while knocking in six runs… He became the first Retriever to hit two round trippers in a game since classmate Max Himmelstein (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) did so in April 2010 against Albany… Four other Retrievers recorded multi-hit games led by sophomore Rob McCabe (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep) who went 4-for-5 with three RBI… Over the weekend, Stony Brook shutout UMBC 5-0 in the series opener and then held off a Retriever rally to win game two 13-6… On Sunday the Seawolves claimed the series sweep with a 17-1 victory… Himmelstein hit his conference leading eighth home run in Sunday’s loss… UMBC concludes its nine-game home stand with a non-conference game against Georgetown on Tuesday before heading to Connecticut to take on Hartford for a four-game series this weekend.

The Seawolves (34-10, 12-2 AE) went 5-0 on the week including a three-game sweep of UMBC over the weekend... The Seawolves have won 10 straight and 20 of their last 22... Junior Travis Jankowski (Lancaster, Pa.) is hitting .600 with 16 runs scored during the winning streak... The Seawolves are hitting .369 as a team during the winning streak... Senior Tyler Johnson (Chatsworth, Calif.) threw a four-hit shutout in the opener against UMBC. He did not walk a batter and did not allow a UMBC runner past second base... Junior Willie Carmona (Hempstead, N.Y.) is hitting .521 with 22 RBI through 14 conference games... Stony Brook had a season-high 22 hits in the finale against UMBC.
