Stony Brook Takes On New Hampshire on ESPN3 Monday

DURHAM, N.H. -- Two of the top defensive teams in America East will square off on ESPN3 Monday night as Stony Brook takes on New Hampshire at Lundholm Gym. Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) will have the call starting at 7 p.m. WATCH LIVE

Both teams are coming off wins as Stony Brook (15-7, 10-1 AE) knocked off Albany, 76-69, on Saturday, while New Hampshire (8-13, 3-7 AE), which had the weekend off, beat Hartford, 52-50, on Wednesday. The Seawolves, who are atop the league standings and have won six straight and 12 of their last 13, lead the league and rank in the top 20 nationaly allowing only 59.2 points per game. The Wildcats, who have racked up six of their wins at home this year, are third in the conference, allowing just 64.0 points per game.

Stony Brook took the first meeting, 61-52, on Jan. 16 behind 14 points and nine rebounds from Al Rapier. The Seawolves have won three straight in the series, but the Wildcats lead it 14-9 and have won eight of 11 all-time get togethers in Durham.

Elsewhere on Monday, the third and fourth place teams and second and fifth place squads in the league standings square off. Boston U. (12-13, 8-3 AE) and Albany (15-10, 7-4 AE) will meet at SEFCU Arena while Vermont (15-10, 9-2 AE) goes to Maine (11-10, 5-5 AE). Both games tip at 7 p.m.

The Terriers are coming off a 68-53 win at Binghamton Saturday, while the Great Danes suffered their first home loss of the season. Boston took the first meeting, 70-57 in Boston on Jan. 16. The Catamounts won their sixth straight on Saturday, a 82-56 win over Hartford, while the Black Bears won their third in a row, a 77-76 overtime win at UMBC. Vermont won the first meeting, 75-64, on Jan. 16.
