Before the Patriots and Giants kick off in tonight's Superbowl, America East will have a showdown of its own in Burlington where Vermont (9-14, 3-7 AE) will host Hartford (14-10, 5-5 AE) at 1 p.m.
The Catamounts trailed the Hawks by 15 at the half on Jan. 8 in Hartford, but stormed back to win 57-50. Vermont junior Shanai Heber paced the team with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in the last meeting.
Meanwhile, Hartford has won three straight and has already avenged two previous losses during the second time around the conference schedule. The Hawks have averaged 64 ppg during this win streak, led by junior Ruthanne Doherty's 13.8 ppg over that stretch.
On Saturday, three teams finished of regular-season sweeps of their opponents with wins. UMBC's Erin Brown led the Retrievers to a 66-44 victory over Maine in Baltimore with 18 points. Brown averaged 20.5 ppg in two meetings against the Black Bears.
In Binghamton, the Terriers won their 10th straight game 62-49 over the Bearcats. Binghamton's Andrea Holmes netted a game-high 23 rebounds, but three Boston U. starters scored in double-figures. Terrier junior Mo Moran finished with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Albany hosted Stony Brook for the annual Big Purple Growl and finished on top of the Seawolves 57-47 after a deciding 14-2 run to end the game. Albany's Ebone Henry scored a game-high 16 points and collected four steals, while teammate Julie Forster pulled down 17 rebounds.
