Stony Brook and Vermont will try to keep pace with each other in the league standings are both teams, which are tied for first place, take to the road Tuesday. The Seawolves head to Hartford while the Catamounts visit Binghamton. Both games start at 7 p.m.
Stony Brook (18-8, 12-2 AE), winner of 14 of its last 16, will try to keep its hopes for the America East Championship's No. 1 seed alive. The Seawolves need to finish a game ahead of the Catamounts in order for that to happen as UVM holds the tiebreaker. Hartford (8-19, 7-7 AE) is playing its best basketball of the year at the right time, having won four straight. The Hawks can earn finish as high as fourth and as low as sixth in the standings.
Vermont (19-10, 12-2 AE) have won 10 straight games and with two more wins would claim the No. 1 seed for the tournament. Already guaranteed of being seeded first or second for the ninth time in the last 11 years, the Cats are seeking their fifth No. 1 seed in that span. Binghamton (0-26, 0-13 AE) starts a three games in six days span to close out its regular season. The Bearcats will play two of those games at the Events Center, where they average a league-best 2,747 fans per game.
