CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Five America East women's basketball teams are in action on Saturday, including Binghamton visiting Buffalo in a game that will be televised regionally on Time Warner Cable Sports.
The Bearcats (0-8) are in search of their first win of the season against the Bison, Fellow America East team Albany (6-2) also will be in Buffalo looking for its fifth-straight win at Canisius at 2 p.m.
Maine (1-7) hosts Rhode Island at the Portland Expo Center for an early start at 1 p.m. This will be the first time the Black Bears have played in Portland
since defeating Holy Cross 77-67 on Jan. 2, 2006. Maine has had great
success in Portland as it has won eight-straight games and nine of its
last 10 dating back to the 1993-94 season.
Stony Brook (4-3) has already equaled its win total from last year in the first seven games, and is at Fordham at 2 p.m.
Boston University (6-3) has won three-straight contests and is just a week removed from knocking off No. 15/17 St. John's. The Terriers boast the league's leading scorer in Chantell Alford at 19.1 points per game. Boston U. is on pace to break the team single season three-point shooting record, averaging 8.7 made 3-pointers per game.
