Boston U., Maine Men's Hoops Squads Pick Up Wins Thursday

Three America East men's basketball teams took the floor Monday night and two of them came away with wins as Boston University and Maine earned victories while UMBC fell in double overtime.

The Terriers (3-5) extended their win streak to three games with a 69-63 win at Coastal Carolina. Boston U. shot 52 percent from the field and was led by Dom Morris, who had a career-high 18 points and seven rebounds.

The Black Bears (3-5) beat up on Fisher, 97-42, for their third win in their last four games. Xavier Pollard led six Black Bears in double figures with 14 points, while Alasdair Fraser had a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Retrievers (2-7) nearly knocked off American before falling 73-70 in double overtime as John Schoof hit three free thows in the final minutes of the second extra session. Ryan Cook led all scorers with 24 points, while Chase Plummer (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Brett Roseboro (12 points, 12 rebounds) each had double-doubles.
