One America East men's basketball team takes the court Monday as UMBC visits George Mason for a 7 p.m. contest. The Retrievers, who are coming off a win over Towson Saturday, will try to post back-to-back wins for the first time since February of 2011.
UMBC (2-5) will try to snap a four-game losing skid against GMU and even up the all-time series 10-10. UMBC ranks second in America East in scoring (67.7 ppg) after averaging rankings sixth and averaging 63.2 ppg last season. Ryan Cook is a big reason for that. The senior is one of just two players to rank in the league's top six in both scoring (2nd - 17.3 ppg) and rebounding (6th - 7.4 ppg).
On Monday, Binghamton allowed Monmouth to shoot 51 percent and fell, 77-65, at home. Jordan Reed scored a game-high 26 points and added 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. He’s led his team in scoring in all seven games he’s played in this season.
