CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After a six-day break, America East women's basketball teams return to
action with three games on Friday, including two teams playing in tournaments.
UMBC (3-8) kicks things off with a noon game
against Wagner in the Hawk Classic in Philadelphia, Pa. The Retrievers are
looking to snap a five-game skid. Raven Harris has paced the UMBC defense,
leading the conference with 4.1 steals per game.
Hartford (8-3) carries its highest Mid-Major
ranking of the season (ninth) into Friday's contest against UMES as part of the
Terrapin Classic hosted by the University of Maryland. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m.
at the Comcast Center.
Maine (1-9) rounds out action with a trip to
James Madison at 7 p.m. Junior guard Ashleigh Roberts leads the Black
Bears in scoring, averaging 11.3 points. She also leads the team in
steals (13) and assists (23), while she sits second in average rebounds (4.9).
