Boston U. Beats Local Rival Harvard Monday; Stony Brook Hosts FDU Tuesday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Boston University played its second-straight overtime game and beat its second-straight Mid-Major Top-25 opponent in the process, as the Terriers topped Harvard, 68-61, Monday night.

It was the fifth-straight win for Boston U. (8-3) who was led by America East leading scorer Chantell Alford's 23-point effort. Mo Moran had 10 assists in the contest, the most for an America East player this season.

In other action, both Binghamton (1-9) and Maine (1-9) took opponents to the wire but came up just short. The Bearcats erased a double-digit deficit in the first half to tie the game at 37 in the second half, but fell, 63-57, at home to Niagara. Jasbriell Swain scored a career-high 26 points for Binghamton.

The Black Bears led by as many as seven in the first half then trailed by just two points with 11.2 seconds to go, but a jumper came up short to tie the game in the closing second as Maine fell at Bryant, 44-40. Freshman Milica Mitrovic led Maine with a career-high 12 points while classmate Anna Heise added 10.

Only one game is on tap for Tuesday night, as Stony Brook (5-3) looks for its third-straight win against Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m.
