CAMBRIDGE,
Mass. - The
University at Albany swept Providence on Friday afternoon, clinching their
fifth-straight America East Volleyball regular-season title and giving the
Great Danes the No. 1 seed in the America East Championship. Albany will host
the tournament beginning with the semifinals on Friday, November 9 at
University Gym.
UMBC also
clinched a spot in the America East Championship with a 3-1 road win over Stony
Brook. The Retrievers would be the No. 2 seed if the season ended today, but
will have to wait until matches end on Sunday to find out where they end up.
Stony Brook, New Hampshire and Binghamton will fight for the final two spots in
the America East Championship.
