Stony Brook Gives Albany First Conference Loss; UMBC, Binghamton Also Win Friday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  Stony Brook handed Albany its first loss in America East play as part of volleyball action on Friday night. It was Albany's first conference loss since October 16, 2011, at New Hampshire and first home conference loss since falling to Binghamton on October 22, 2010.

Binghamton also notched a five-set win over New Hampshire, while UMBC finished a sweep of Providence in the season series.

  • Evann Slaughter had 15 kills and five blocks while Melissa Rigo added 14 kills and 13 digs as Stony Brook beat Albany, 3-1.
