CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
- Boston University claimed its sixth-straight overall and fifth-straight
outright America East regular-season title on Thursday, as part of a very
eventful day on the pitch in the conference. The Terriers have won every regular-season title since 2007 and now have 10 as a program.
Also on Thursday, Vermont, Stony Brook and Albany all clinched spots, joining
Hartford, Maine and New Hampshire who had already locked-up spots. Hartford
cinched the No. 1 seed in the tournament for the first time since 2006. We
finished the day with Maine sitting as the No. 2 seed with 11 points, and three
teams tied at the No. 3 seed (Vermont, Stony Brook, New Hampshire) with 10
points. Albany stands as the No. 6 seed right now, and clinched a spot thanks
to Binghamton’s win over UMBC.
