CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- UMBC looks strong in both men's and women's swimming and diving for the 2012-13. After finishing second across the board a year ago, the Retrievers return plenty of talent for both the men and women in its effort to sweep.
Binghamton is poised to make a run on the men's side, with three all-conference performers back and the New Hampshire women look like a contender with its core of young talent.
A trio of squads will get the season underway on Saturday, when UMBC hosts Rider at 1:00 p.m., Boston U. hosts Masschusetts at 1:30 p.m and the New Hampshire women host Boston College at 2:00 p.m. The Vermont women will also compete on Saturday, continuing its season by welcoming Wagner. Maine (at Rhode Island) will open on October 26 and Binghamton (vs. Boston U.) will begin on the following day.
The season will culminate at the University of Maine for this year's America East championship which will take place February 14-17.
