Night two of men's basketball conference play saw Albany and Stony Brook improve to 2-0, while Hartford and Vermont both evened its league record at 1-1.

The Great Danes (10-6, 2-0 AE) beat UMBC (2-12, 1-1 AE) 89-72 to improve to 2-0 for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign. Albany, which has won eight of its last 11 games, overcame a 14-point first-half deficit by outscoring the Retrievers 80-49 over the game's final 33 minutes. Logan Aronhalt, Mike Black and Gerardo Suero combined for 66 of Albany's 89 points, each pouring in 22 apiece. Chase Plummer tallied a career-high for the second straight game, scoring 25 points before fouling out.

The Seawolves (7-6, 2-0 AE) survived a scare from Binghamton (0-14, 0-2 AE) and pulled out a 60-54 win in Vestal, N.Y. Trailing 43-39 with 11 minutes to go, SBU went on a 10-0 run to pull away. The win, Stony Brook's fourth straight, snapped its nine-game losing skid to the Bearcats in Binghamton and gave the Seawolves just their second 2-0 America East start (2009-10) in 11 seasons. Tommy Brenton paced the victors with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Robert Mansell has a game-high 22 for the Bearcats.

The Hawks (1-13, 1-1 AE) secured their first win of the year with a 56-49 victory over New Hampshire (5-8, 0-2 AE). Hartford, which had lost 14 in a row dating back to last year, held the Wildcats to just 29 percent shooting en route to the win. Andres Torres scored nearly half of the Hawks' points, finishing with a game-high 27. Brian Benson had eight points and 14 rebounds for UNH.

The Catamounts (7-9, 1-1 AE) avoided a 0-2 start with an 83-69 win over Boston U. (4-11, 0-2 AE). Vermont, which has won 11 of its last 12 league home openers, held a 42-31 edge on the glass, led by Brian Voelkel's career-high tying 16 rebounds. Four McGlynn tallied 20 points and Matt Glass added 19 for UVM. Darryl Partin had 19 to lead Boston U.
