The America East Conference schedule continues tonight with two more games. Boston U. plays its league opener tonight in Vermont and after tonight, all nine conference teams will have begun America East play.
After nearly six weeks away from Patrick Gym, Vermont (6-8, 0-1 AE) hosts Boston U. (7-6, 0-0 AE) in the Catamounts' second straight home game. The Terriers swept last year's regular season series.
The Terriers are built around a nucleus of upperclassmen, including
leading scorer Chantell Alford (12.4 ppg). After Vermont junior Lauren Buschmann, who totaled 11 points and 13 rebounds in Monday's loss to Stony Brook, the
next three top-scoring Catamounts are all underclassmen.
In the other conference matchup tonight, Albany (7-7, 1-0 AE) looks to keep its undefeated (4-0) home record intact against UMBC (7-7, 1-0 AE). The Great Danes handed Hartford its first home loss this season on Monday night, while the Retrievers, who swept the regular-season series last year, recorded a comeback win at home over UNH Monday. One of these two teams will be the first America East team to move to 2-0 in conference play.
Two of the league's top-three scorers will square-off in Albany. UMBC senior Erin Brown leads America East with 16.1 ppg, while Albany junior Ebone Henry ranks third with 14.2 ppg.
