STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- First place in the conference standings will be on the line when Stony Brook and Boston University meet in men's basketball action Friday on Long Island. The game, which tips at 9:05 p.m., will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

This marks the fifth straight year America East has had a regular-season conference game nationally televised on ESPNU. The game will also air on ESPN3 and be available on all WatchESPN apps for smart phones and tablets.Dan Gutowsky (play-by-play) and Rob Kennedy (analyst) will have the call.

The Seawolves (12-7, 7-1 AE) and Terriers (11-11, 7-1 AE) come into the game tied atop the league standings and have several other similarities. Both are red hot as Boston U. has won seven in a row and Stony Brook has won nine of its last 10.
Both teams excel defensively as the Seawolves lead America East and rank in the top 40 nationally allowing just 59.4 ppg and are surrendering only 54.0 ppg in conference play. Boston U. is fifth allowing 65.0 points per game but ranks second allowing just 57.0 ppg  in league play and just 53.3 ppg during its win streak.

Darryl Partin scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in the second half, while Dave Coley had a game and career-high 21 points for the Seawolves. The Terriers have an 18-6 all-time edge in the series and has won five straight. Stony Brook has been tough at home however, having won 10 straight at Pritchard Gym and is 9-0 there this year.

The game will also feature two of the conference's top guards.
