BOSTON -- Two of the hottest teams in America East will square off in front of a national audience on Monday as Albany (12-7, 4-1 AE) heads to Boston University (7-11, 3-1 AE) for a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matchup on CBS Sports Network. The Great Danes, who are tied atop the league standings with Stony Brook at 4-1, have won seven of their last nine, while Boston U., which is just a half game back, has won three in a row.
Don Criqui (play-by-play) and former NBA All-Star Wally Szczerbiak (analyst) will call the action, which begins at 7 p.m. The game, the first conference contest to ever be featured on CBS Sports Network, is one of five contests to be carried by the network this season.
The game also features the top two scorers in America East, who both rank among the nation's best. Gerardo Suero leads the conference and ranks fourth nationally averaging 22.4 points per game. The four-time America East Player of the Week, has 14 20-plus point scoring outings already this season, including 26 in Albany's 76-75 win over Maine on Saturday. Partin ranks second in the league and 14th nationally averaging 20.1 points per game. He scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in the second half of the Terriers' 61-55 victory over Stony Brook Saturday.
Boston U., which has won 13 straight games against America East foes on its home court, has won the last five meetings with the Great Danes.
