Three-pointers were the story of last night's games as both Albany (10-7, 4-0 AE) and Boston U. (10-6, 3-0 AE) used them to stay perfect in America East play. The Great Danes shot 41.2 percent (7-for-17) from long distance to defeat UNH (8-7, 1-2 AE) 60-44, while the Terriers went 47.6 percent (10-for 21) from beyond the arc in a 75-34 win over Maine (3-13, 0-3 AE).
Boston U. senior guard Alex Young went 6-for-9 from downtown, reminiscent of last year's career-best 7-for-9 effort in the America East semifinals, to finish with 22 points. Junior Chantell Alford tallied 13 points, while both Alford and classmate Mo Moran dished out seven assists apiece.
Albany junior Lindsey Lowrie canned five of her 10 three-point attempts, including a couple from way outside the arc, and finished with 23 points. She was one of three Great Danes to finish with double-digit point totals. Junior Ebone Henry netted 12 points, including the 1,000th of her career, becoming the eighth active America East player to hit the milestone.
In Vermont, the Catamounts (8-9, 2-2 AE) outscored Binghamton 44-21 in the second half to defeat the Bearcats (8-9, 2-2 AE). Lauren Buschmann picked up her sixth double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
UMBC (8-8, 2-1 AE) and the league's highest scoring duo in Michelle Kurowski and Erin Brown welcome the league's stingiest defense in Stony Brook (4-12, 1-2 AE) in Thursday night's only game.
