Vermont Hosts Binghamton Thursday in Lone Men's Basketball Contest

Vermont will try to keep pace with the other teams near the top of the America East men's basketball standings when it hosts Binghamton Thursday at 7 p.m. in the lone game of the day. On Wednesday, Stony Brook improved to 4-0 in conference play, while Albany and Boston U. also posted wins.

The Catamounts (8-9, 2-1 AE), winners of two straight and four of five, have won four straight over the Bearcats (0-15, 0-3 AE). Vermont ranks second in America East holding opponents to just 62.5 points per game. Binghamton, which is in search of its first win, fell at Boston U. Sunday its last time out.

On Wednesday, the Seawolves achieved their first-ever 4-0 America East start by beating UMBC, 89-49. Stony Brook, winner of six straight, shot a season-high 59 percent from the floor and had four players in double figures, led by Bryan Dougher's 15 points. Ryan Cook paced UMBC (2-14, 1-3 AE) with 14.

The Great Danes (11-7. 3-1 AE) bounced back from their loss at Stony Brook Sunday with an 86-63 win over New Hampshire (5-9, 0-3 AE). The win was Albany's sixth in their last eight games at home and ninth straight at home dating back to last year. Logan Aronhalt scored a game-high 21 points to lead Albany while Patrick Konan paced UNH with 13 and eight rebounds.

The Terriers (6-11, 2-1 AE) handed Maine (8-6, 2-1 AE) its first home loss of the season by outscoring their opponent 50-35 in the second half en route to their second straight win. Darryl Partin scored a game-high 27 points while D.J. Irving had his first career double-double, scoring a career-best 23 points and adding 11 assists. Gerald McLemore paced the Black Bears with 17.
