Stony Brook, N.Y. - The honors continue to roll in for the Stony Brook University baseball team as Brandon McNitt, Nick Tropeano and William Carmona were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on Thursday. McNitt was named Rookie of the Year while Tropeano and Carmona were named to the first team.

A Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, McNitt went 7-3 with a 2.03 ERA in 79.2 innings with the ERA mark ranking 39th in the nation. The 2011 America East Rookie of the Year and second team all-conference selection, the right-hander walked just 18 batters and held opponents to a .231 batting average.

This is just the latest honor for Tropeano, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Houston Astros. He is currently pitching for the Tri-City Valley Cats, the Astros short-season Class A affiliate.

Tropeano was named a second team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the ABCA, CollegeBaseballInsider.com and the NCBWA. He went 12-1 with a 1.84 ERA in 14 starts for the Seawolves this season and set America East single season records for wins and strikeouts (119).

The right-hander was named to the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch list and was one of 25 finalists for the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Pitcher of the Year award. He also became the first player in America East history to earn Pitcher of the Year honors twice.

The 2011 America East Player of the Year, Carmona hit .357 and set school records for hits (80) and doubles (27) with the doubles mark ranking third in the nation. Carmona led the America East in five offensive categories including batting average, slugging percentage (.580) and hits.

Carmona became the first America East player since 1998 to be named a first team All-American last week and was also selected to the 2011 District I Capital One Academic All-District first team.

The Seawolves won a school record 42 games in 2011 and won their first ever America East regular season title.
