CLEVELAND -- University of New Hampshire led all America East Conference schools in the final Learfield Sports NACDA Directors' Cup standings, which were announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) on Friday.
UNH and Boston University each finished in the top-100 among over 370 Division I schools and were each in the top-10 in its respective division. New Hampshire ranked 76th overall with 242.50 points and placed sixth in the Football Championship Subdivision while Boston U. finished 82nd overall with 229 points and was fourth among Division I subdivision institutions.
All nine America East schools garnered points in the final standings. Stony Brook University (116th overall) was third among the league's members, followed by University at Albany (123rd), Binghamton University (164th), University of Vermont (176th), University of Hartford and UMBC (T-205th) and University of Maine (238th).
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today for NCAA Division I, II and III and the NAIA and awards points based on each institution's NCAA finish in up to 20 sports, 10 men's and 10 women's. Stanford won the Division I Directors' Cup for the 17th consecutive year in 2010-11.
