Albany and Binghamton Earn Wins in Men's Lax Action

At Albany 12, No. 20 Harvard 11- Box Score

  • Albany put an end to its four-game losing streak with an impressive 12-11 home victory over No. 20 Harvard.
  • The victory marked the third win of the season by the Great Danes over a nationally ranked opponent.
  • The Great Danes were led by a pair of freshman attacks, as both Ty Thompson and Miles Thompson netted four goals in the win.

At Binghamton 8, Vermont 7 (OT)- Box Score

  • In the opening game of America East play for both squads, Binghamton (5-5, 1-0 America East) rallied from a four-goal fourth quarter deficit to secure a thrilling 8-7 (OT) over Vermont (4-5, 0-1 America East).
  • After a goal from freshman attack Brandon Planck tied the game with just minutes remaining in regulation, the Bearcats won the game on a goal from sophomore attack Matt Springer with a minute left in overtime.
  • Springer led the way for Binghamton with a team-high two goals. Freshman defender Greg Cove and junior defender Ben Waldron each scooped up three ground balls.
  • Senior midfielder Kyle Sminkey scored a game-high three goals in the loss. Sophomore midfielder Thomas Galvin added two goals for the Catamounts.
