Every gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a men's lacrosse update that  previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the previous day's action. Vermont at UMBC, 1 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Audio | Live Video

  • UMBC (5-5, 2-1 America East) looks to keep the momentum from its three-game winning streak as it hosts Vermont (6-7, 1-2 AE) Saturday afternoon.
  • UMBC can clinch a spot in the America East tournament with a winover the Catamounts.
  • Vermont is trying to halt a two-game skid after a 9-7 loss to Dartmouth last Tuesday in a non-conference meeting.
  • The last time these two teams met, UMBC took an 8-7 decision in overtime at Vermont.
  • UMBC senior midfielder Jamie Kimbles notched six points on four goals and a pair of assists in the Retrievers' 13-9 win over Albany last Saturday.
  • Sophomore attack Drew Philie paces the Vermont offense as he has ammassed a team-high 28 goals and 38 total points this season.

  • Stony Brook (7-4, 3-0 AE) has a chance to clinch a share of the America East regular-season title and the top seed in the upcoming America East tournament as it hosts Albany (4-8, 0-3 AE).
  • The Great Danes are looking for their first conference win in 2011 after facing the Seawolves in the America East championship game last season.
  • The Seawolves have won their last four games against Albany, including an 11-7 victory in the 2010 America East Championship game.
  • Junior attack Joe Resatarits leads the Great Danes this season with 34 points on a team-high 24 goals to go along with 10 assists.
  • Stony Brook senior midfielder Kevin Crowley leads America East with 42 points on 24 goals and 18 assists. The senior has 218 points in his career, tops among active players in the NCAA.


Hartford at Binghamton, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video

  • Hartford (8-5, 2-1 AE) looks to lock up its first America East tournament bid since 2003 as it heads to Vestal, N.Y., to take on Binghamton (5-7, 2-1 AE).
  • Binghamton has won its last three home games, dating back to March 8, when the Bearcats grabbed an 11-5 win over Hobart.
  • With eight wins so far this season, the Hawks have equaled their win total from the last ... seasons combined.
  • Last season, Binghamton stole a 13-12 victory over the Hawks on the road in West Hartford, Conn.
  • Binghamton is led by sophomore attack Matt Springer, who paces the Bearcats with 22 goals and 24 total points. Springer has scored the game-winning goal in four of the Bearcats' five wins this season.
  • Hartford junior attack Carter Bender is second in America East averaging 3.33 points per game. His 24 goals are tied for the most among America East players in 2011.
