First-Half Run Pushes Albany Past Canisius

#9/7 Albany 14, at Canisius 8 -- Box Score

  • Albany (13-0, 4-0 America East) scored six consecutive goals in the final 10:14 of the first half to bring an 11-5 lead into the break.
  • The Great Danes fired off 22 shots in the first half, including 17 shots on net. The Albany defense limited Canisius to eight total shots before the intermission, six of which were on target.
  • Albany controlled 17 of the 24 draws in the contest.
  • Senior attack Jodi Battaglia netted a season-high five goals and added two assists to lead the Great Dane offense.
  • Freshman midfielder Allie Phelan tallied a career-high four goals on the afternoon.
  • Senior attack Taylor Frink scored one goal and dished out an assist. Her 27 helpers set a single-season record for the Great Danes.


Wednesday, April 20
Harvard 16, Boston U. 6 -- Box Score

  • Boston U. (6-8, 2-2 America East) fell behind by scores of 5-0 and 9-1 in the first half as it dropped its final home game of the season to cross-town rival Harvard.
  • Harvard outshot the Terriers, 27-17, including 12-5 in the second half. The Crimson held a 22-10 advantage in shots on goal on the evening.
  • The Terriers picked up just eight ground balls while the Crimson grabbed 18 ground balls.
  • Harvard converted three of its five free-position attempts. Boston U. was 0-for-3 on its free-position shots.
  • Boston U. held a 13-11 edge in draw controls.
  • Sophomore attack Danielle Etrasco scored a pair of goals while also taking a team-high four draw controls, picking up one ground ball and causing a turnover.
  • Senior midfielder Rachel Collins scored two goals to go along with three draw controls and a ground ball.
