UMBC Earns America East Win, Vermont Falls in Non-Conference Action

At UMBC 9, Binghamton 8- Box Score

  • Senior midfielder Ashley Stodter netted the game-winning goal with just eight minutes remaining to help propel UMBC (10-5, 4-1 America East) to the 9-8 home victory over Binghamton (3-11, 1-3 America East).
  • Senior midfielder Amanda Pappas led the Retrievers with a team-high three goals in the win. Senior attack Erika Braerman added three points.
  • The duo of senior midfielder Beth Moore and senior attack Ali Castiglie led Binghamton on the offensive end, as both players found the back of the net three times.

No. 14 Boston College 20, At Vermont 8- Box Score

  • Freshman attack Sydney Mas set a new rookie single-season scoring record in Vermont's 20-8 home loss to No. 14 Boston College.
  • With her three points, Mas broke the record of 53 points, which was previously held by former All-American Kristen Millar. Mas has scored 54 points on 46 goals and eight assists.
  • Senior midfielder Megan MacDonald added three points on one goal and two assists, while freshman midfielder Marcie Marino recorded two points.
