UMBC Hosts Binghamton in Women's Lax Action

Every gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a women's lacrosse update that  previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the previous day's action. At Vermont vs. No. 14 Boston College, 1 p.m. - Live Video

  • Vermont looks to put an end to its three-game losing streak when it welcomes No. 14 Boston College to Moulton Winder Field.
  • The Catamounts have struggled in this series against Boston College, as they have lost the last six meetings, including a 14-10 road loss last season.
  • Freshman attack Sydney Mas is just the 11th player in UVM history to score 50 points in a single-season and has also set the freshman record for goals in a season. With her 51 points, Mas is just four points short of setting the freshman scoring record at Vermont.

  • UMBC (9-5, 3-1 America East) looks to continue its push for first-place in America East when it hosts Binghamton (3-10, 1-2 America East).
  • This will be the eighth meeting between the two schools, with the Retrievers winning the previous seven. Last season, UMBC traveled to Binghamton and earned the 19-9 win.
  • The duo of junior midfielder Alicia Krause and senior attack Erika Braerman leads the Retrievers on the offensive end. Krause leads the team with 46 points on a team-high 32 goals and 14 assists, while Braerman has scored 41 points on 25 goals and a team-high 16 assists.
  • Junior attack Lis Zuern leads the Bearcats with 38 points on 27 goals and 11 assists this season. Senior midfielder Beth Moore has netted a team-high 28 goals.
