lacrosse update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live

Hartford at Vermont, 1 p.m. -- Live Video
- Vermont (6-5, 1-1 America East) looks for its second straight conference win as it hosts a Hartford team (7-5, 1-1 AE) looking to end a two-game slide.
- Vermont has won seven straight games in its series with Hartford, including a 13-7 triumph last season in West Hartford, Conn.
- Vermont is coming off an 11-6 win over Albany last Saturday. The Catamount defense has held eight teams to fewer than 10 goals this season.
- Hartford has dropped its last two games after holding multi-goal leads in the fourth quarter against Stony Brook last Saturday and Fairfield on Tuesday.
- Vermont sophomore attack Drew Philie leads America East with 25 goals this season and is second in the league with 2.27 goals per game.
- Hartford junior attack Carter Bender netted a career-high five goals and dished out an assist against Fairfield to reach the 100-point milestone for his career.
UMBC at Albany, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats
- Albany (4-7, 0-2 AE) looks to get back on track as it hosts UMBC (4-5, 1-1 AE) in a 2010 semifinal rematch.
- Albany topped UMBC, 11-7, in last year's semifinal matchup in Baltimore. The Retrievers won the regular-season meeting, 12-7, also in Baltimore.
- Albany has lost six of its last seven games while UMBC has won its last two.
- The Retrievers feature a balanced offense led by the trio of junior Rob Grimm and sophomores Scott Jones and Dave Brown. The trio has combined for 14 points in the last two games, led by Grimm, who has six points on three goals and three assists.
- Albany freshman keeper Edmund Cathers leads America East with 11.09 saves per game and boasts a .542 save percentage, which ranks third in the conference.
Binghamton at #13/13 Stony Brook, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video
- Binghamton (5-6, 1-1 AE) heads to Long Island to take on SUNY rival and America East-leading Stony Brook (6-3, 2-0 AE).
- Stony Brook owns a 7-3 advantage in its all-time series with Binghamton, including a 17-16 win in a barnburner in Vestal, N.Y., last season.
- Binghamton dropped its last contest, an 8-6 loss on the road at UMBC.
- The Seawolves are coming off a 10-8, come-from-behind win at Hartford last Saturday in which they scored seven fourth-quarter goals to erase a 6-3 deficit.
- Binghamton sophomore keeper Kraig Heston has held opponents to just 7.39 goals per contest this season, the 10th-best goals against average in the nation. Heston has been in net for all five Bearcat wins.
- Stony Brook senior midfielder Kevin Crowley leads America East in total scoring with 37 points on 21 goals and 16 assists. He also tops the league in goals per game (2.33) and assists per game (1.78).

Hartford suffered a heartbreaking loss, as it
allowed a goal with just one second remaining to fall 10-9 to intrastate rival
Fairfield.

It was a back-and-forth battle between the
squads, with Hartford appearing to send the game to overtime courtesy of a goal
from junior attack Ryan Compitello with just 19 seconds remaining. However, the
Stags were able to respond and earn the win in regulation.

Junior midfielder Carter Bender led the Hawks in
the loss, netting a game-high six points on five goals and an assist.

In the loss, senior midfielder Tim Fallon
scooped up a team-high 12 ground balls and won 16-of-23 faceoffs.
