Moore's Five Goals Not Enough For Bearcats

Every gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a women's lacrosse update that  previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the previous day's action. at High Point13, Binghamton 10 -- Box Score

  • Binghamton (1-7) took a 2-1 lead, but gave up six consecutive goals to High Point to fall behind, 7-2, at the half.
  • Binghamton held a 20-19 advantage in shots on goal despite being outshot, 27-25, overall.
  • High Point keeper Lauren Hayes stopped 10 Bearcat shots. Binghamton senior keeper Lauren Scott made only six saves on the evening.
  • Senior midfielder Beth Moore scored five goals on 10 shots and also added an assist for six total points. Moore also picked up four ground balls and notched a pair of draw controls. 

 

Sunday, March 20

t Stony Brook 18, Iona 7- Box Score

  • Senior midfielder Victoria Cable scored a career-high five goals to help lead Stony Brook to an 18-7 victory over Iona.
  • Along with her five goals, Cable controlled a game-high four draws for the Seawolves.
  • Junior midfielder Abby Ford matched her career-high with five points, scoring one goal and dishing out four assists.

 

UMBC 15, at Mount Saint Mary's 8- Box Score

  • UMBC used a balanced offensive performance to earn a 15-8 win over Mount Saint Mary's and extend its winning streak to three games.
  • Senior midfielder Amanda Pappas continued her excellent play, netting a game-high four goals and scooping up three ground balls.
  • Junior attack Emily Coady recorded six points on three goals and three assists, while senior attack Erika Braerman added three points.

 

Vermont 15, at Marist 8- Box Score

  • Freshman midfielder Sydney Mas recorded a game-high seven points to help Vermont earn an impressive 15-8 win at Marist.
  • Mas netted a career-high six goals and dished out an assist to help lead the Catamounts. Sophomore midfielder Emma Kelly scored three goals to record her second straight hat trick.
  • Junior goalkeeper Laura Barber made eight saves to help Vermont seal the win.

 

at Denver 13, Boston University 11- Box Score

  • Boston University couldn't overcome a late four-goal deficit, as it fell 13-11 at Denver.
  • Senior attack Erica Baumgartner led the Terriers with a game-high five points. Baumgarnter dished out a team-high four assists and added a goal.
  • Sophomore attack Danielle Etrasco and sophomore midfielder Kristen Mogavero each scored two goals in the loss.

 

No. 17/15 Albany 10, at No. 19/12 Massachusetts 8- Box Score

  • No. 17/15 Albany earned its sixth consecutive win to open the season, as it knocked off No. 19/12 Massachusetts, 10-8.
  • With the win, Albany knocked off its third ranked opponent of the season and continued the best start in program history.
  • Senior attack Taylor Frink recorded a game-high seven points in the thrilling win. Frink scored a team-high four goals and dished out a team-high three assists.
