gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a men's
lacrosse update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Friday, March 18
at #6/7 Maryland 15, UMBC 6 -- Box Score
- UMBC (1-4) was held to fewer than 10 goals for the fourth straight game as it fell on the road at in-state rival Maryland.
- The Retrievers fell behind, 2-14, after three quarters.
- Maryland held a 37-20 advantage in shots. However, the Retrievers put 19 of their 20 shots on net.
- UMBC picked up just 22 ground balls compared to the 40 ground balls grabbed by Maryland.
- Sophomore attack Scott Jones scored three goals on four shots to pace the Retriever attack. Junior attack Rob Grimm also posted three points on one goal and a pair of assists.
Wednesday, March 16
at Bucknell 7, Hartford 6 -- Box Score
- Hartford
(3-3) held a 6-4 advantage with less than eight minutes remaining in the
fourth quarter, but surrendered three unanswered goals to Bucknell to
take the road loss.
- Bucknell
outshot the Hawks, 40-22, and held a 21-12 advantage in shots on goal.
The Bison held an 11-3 shot advantage in the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore keeper Frank Piechota made 14 saves on the afternoon, including nine in the first quarter.
- Sophomore
attack Jared Franze found the back of the net twice to lead the Hawks
offensively. Franze now has a team-high 10 goals this season.
- Junior
attacks Carter Bender and Aidan Genik also posted two points apiece.
Bender notched one goal and one assist while Genik dished out two
helpers.
Tuesday, March 15
No. 5 Stony Brook 9, at St. John's 4- Box Score

Senior goalkeeper Rob Camposa made 14 saves to
help propel No.5 Stony Brook to an impressive 9-4 victory over St. John's.

Junior attack Russ Bonanno and senior attack
Jordan McBride each netted two goals to help lead the Seawolves.

Senior midfielder Adam Rand won 12-of-15 draws
and also recorded a team-high five ground balls.
Binghamton 7, at Colgate 6- Box Score

In the opening game of its three-game road trip,
Binghamton extended its winning streak to four games with a thrilling 7-6 win
at Colgate.

Sophomore attack Matt Springer continued his
torrid start to the season, netting a team-high four goals in the win. Springer
has netted 19 goals this season.

Junior midfielder Chris Cook scooped up a
team-high five ground balls and won 7-of-9 draws for the Bearcats
at No. 1 Syracuse 18, No. 14 Albany 13- Box Score

No. 14 Albany saw its three-game winning streak
come to an end with a tough 18-13 loss at No. 1 Syracuse.

Freshman attack Ty Thompson netted a team-high
three goals to lead the Great Danes in the loss.

midfielder Matt Mackenzie each added two goals for Albany.
