Every gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a women's lacrosse update that  previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Saturday, March 12
at Boston U. 10, George Mason 9 (3 OT) -- Box Score

  • Boston U. senior attack Erica Baumgartner scored on the first possession of the third overtime to give Boston U. (3-2) the victory.
  • Sophomore attack Danielle Etraco scored her second goal of the game with 2.2 seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra sessions.
  • The Terriers outshot the Patriots, 27-20, and held a 17-15 advantage in shots on goal. Boston U. took the held George Mason without a shot attempt in overtime.
  • Baumgartner, Etrasco, sophomore midfielder Kristen Mogavaro and senior midfielder Rachel Collins each scored a pair of goals. Collins also added two assists for a team-high four points.


New Hampshire 12, at Fairfield 8 -- Box Score

  • New Hampshire (3-2) overcame an 2-0 deficit just four minutes into the game to win on the road at Marist.
  • New Hampshire outshot the Stags, 22-18, for the game and held a 14-6 advantage in total shots in the second half.
  • Fairfield converted just eight of its 16 clear attempts, going 2-for-9 in the second half. The Stags turned the ball over 24 times.
  • Sophomore midfielder Jenny Simpson scored four goals to lead the Wildcat offense.
  • Midfielder Kate Keagins notched six total points, posting three goals and three assists. The junior also added three ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover.


at Massachusetts 20, Stony Brook 13 -- Box Score

  • Stony Brook (2-3) scored nine goals in the second half, but could not overcome a 14-4 halftime deficit.
  • UMass outshot Stony Brook, 40-27, for the game, including a 24-10 advantage in the first half.
  • Kaila Gottlick led the way for the Seawolves, netting four goals and also adding an assist to go along with three draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.

 

Friday, March 11
at #19 Albany 23, Niagara 1 -- Box Score

  • Albany (5-0) held a 17-0 advantage at the break and scored the first 21 goals of the game against visiting Niagara.
  • The Great Danes attempted 50 shots, including 40 shots on goal. Niagara attempted just six total shots on the afternoon.
  • Four Albany players scored at least three goals on the afternoon, led by sophomore midfielder Rachael Burek, who found the back of the net five times, and freshman Ariana Parker, who notched four goals.
  • Senior attack Taylor Frink scored three goals and racked up four assists for a game-high seven points, equalling a career best.
  • Freshman attack Persy Sample also tallied three goals in her first start as a collegian.

Monmouth 6, at Binghamton 4 -- Box Score
  • Binghamton (1-5) took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but allowed five second-half goals to visiting Monmouth.
  • Monmouth scored the first five goals in the second half to open up a three-goal lead with 5:35 remaining.
  • Senior goalkeeper Lauren Scott stopped 15 shots for the Bearcats.
  • Senior midfielder Beth Moore led the way offensively for Binghamton as she scored a pair of goals. With the two goals, Moore is now tied for the most goals all-time at Binghamton.
