  • New Hampshire (11-13, 5-7 AE) hosts Stony Brook (9-14, 4-7 AE) in a battle of defensive stalwarts Wednesday at Lundholm Gym, where the home team is 19-7 in its last 26 games.
  • The Wildcats have won six of the last eight meetings in the series, but Stony Brook posted a 64-60 double-overtime win over UNH on Jan. 15.
  • UNH ranks 21st nationally, holding opponents to 60.8 points per game while Stony Brook ranks among the nation's best teams in field goal percentage defense (17th), holding opponents to just 39.1 percent shooting, and is third in the league in scoring defense (61.2 papg).
  • The Wildcats shot a season-high 52.3 percent en route to a win at Binghamton Saturday, their third in their last four games.
  • SBU scored a season-low 42 points at Vermont Sunday and dropped its second straight contest.
  • Junior Bryan Dougher led the Seawolves with 15 points and became the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made last week.

  • Two hot teams square off when UMBC (5-19, 4-7 AE) hosts Vermont (19-5, 10-2 AE) Wednesday.
  • After starting the season 1-16, the Retrievers have won four of their last seven games and can acheive its first three game win streak since the end of the 2008-09 season with a win.
  • The Catamounts, winners of seven straight games and 12 of their last 14, can secure its eighth 20-win season in the last 10 with a victory.
  • Vermont, which is allowing only 53.2 points per game in league play and  ranks 11th nationally in field goal percentage defense, holding foes to a 38.5 percent clip, held Stony Brook to a season-low 42 points and won for seventh straight time Sunday.
  • UMBC, which ranks second in America East averaging 67.3 points in conference play, overcame a 17-point deficit and scored a season-high 84 points in a win at Maine Sunday. 
  • The Cats' Evan Fjeld ranks fourth among America East scoring leaders averaging 15.3 points per game and scored his 1,000th career point against Stony Brook.
  • Junior Chris De La Rosa ranks second among league leaders with 16.7 points per game and is sixth nationally with 6.7 assists per game.

UMBC 84, at Maine 79 -- Box Score

  • UMBC (5-19, 4-7 America East) rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to pull out the thrilling 84-79 win at Maine (14-9, 8-3 America East).
  • Junior guard Chris De La Rosa delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a team-high 24 points, dishing out a game-high 13 assists and grabbing six boards in the win.
  • Graduate student forward Justin Fry netted a career-high 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field.
  • The Black Bears were led by junior guard Gerald McLemore, who scored 24 points, including 5-of-10 shooting from behind the arc.
  • Senior forward Troy Barnies added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double.
at Vermont 65, Stony Brook 42 -- Box Score
  • Vermont (19-5, 10-2 America East) delivered an efficient offensive performance, shooting 56.5 percent from the field as a team, to earn the comfortable 65-42 victory over Stony Brook (9-14, 4-7 America East).
  • Sophomore guard Brendan Bald paced the Catamounts on the offensive end, scoring a game-high 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field.
  • Senior forward Evan Fjeld added 14 points, including the 1,000th-point of his career, and four rebounds in the win. Freshman forward Brian Voelkel added four points, a team-high five rebounds and a game-high 10 assists.
  • Sophomore guard Leonard Hayes led the way for Stony Brook, scoring a team-high 12 points and grabbing three rebounds.
