gameday throughout the 2011 season, America East will provide a women's
lacrosse update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Saturday, February 26
Albany 8, at #16 Penn State 7 -- Box Score
- Albany sophomore midfielder Rachael Burek scored off an assist from senior attack Jodi Battaglia with 6:29 remaining in the second half to break a 7-7 tie and score what proved to be the game-winning goal.
- Albany (2-0) outshot Penn State, 23-20, and held a 17-14 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Great Danes held a 12-5 edge in draw controls on the afternoon.
- Senior midfielder Nikki Branchini led Albany's offensive charge with a game-high three goals while also notching an assist and picking up five ground balls.
UMBC 13, at American 10 -- Box Score
- UMBC (2-1) scored three consecutive goals to end the first half and three more to start the second half to open a 10-5 lead. The Retrievers led the rest of the way.
- UMBC held a slight edge in shot attempts, 22-20, and shots on goal, 18-17.
- Senior attack Ashley Stodter scored five goals on five shot attempts. Freshman midfielder Kristen Bilney was also efficient, scoring two goals on two shots.
- Junior midfielder Alicia Krause scored two goals to go along with a game-high four assists. Krause leads the Retrievers in scoring this season with eight goals and five assists for 13 points.
- Retriever senior keeper Natalie Rau recorded seven saves in her first start of the season.
at Dartmouth 9, New Hampshire 5 -- Box Score
- New Hampshire (1-1) fell behind, 4-0, in the first 15 minutes of the game and never fully recovered on the road.
- The Wildcats controlled only five of 16 draws and lost the ground-ball battle, 27-30.
- New Hampshire junior midfielder Ilana Cohen recorded a hat trick for the Wildcats, scoring on three of her four shots.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Kathleen O'Keefe stopped seven shots in net.
Friday, February 25
at Connecticut 11, Binghamton 9 -- Box Score
- Binghamton (0-2) surrendered a 5-0 run in the first half and a 4-0 run in the second half at Connecticut.
- UConn outshot the Bearcats, 28-21. The Huskies put 25 shots on net while Binghamton mustered just 14 shots on goal.
- Binghamton senior keeper Lauren Scott made 14 saves in the loss.
- Senior
defender Beth Moore led the Bearcats' offensive attack with three goals
on just three shot attempts. Junior attack Lis Zuern added two goals to
go along with a pair of assists.
- Attackers Kimberley McGeever and Ali Castiglie each added a pair of goals.
