  • Albany (14-15, 7-7 AE) can lock up the No. 4 seed in the upcoming conference tournmant with with a win over UMBC (5-23, 4-11 AE) and a Stony Brook win at Hartford Wednesday.
  • The Great Danes closed their game at Binghamton Sunday on a 13-4 run and won for the third time in five games.
  • In its seven league victories, Albany is holding opponents to just 50 points per game.
  • Senior Tim Ambrose ranks second among league leaders averaging 16.4 points per game while sophomore Logan Aronhalt is sevent (14.4 ppg).
  • UMBC shot just 20.8 percent in the first half against Hartford Saturday and dropped its fourth straight contest.
  • Senior Justin Fry (20 points, 20 rebounds) recorded the first 20-point, 20-rebound game in UMBC's Division I history and the first in America East since Marqus Blakely had 23 and 20 against Maine on Jan. 28, 2009.
  • With the loss, UMBC is guaranteed a spot in the first-round game for the first time since 2005-06 season.

  • Hartford (9-18, 6-8 AE) hosts Stony Brook (11-16, 6-8 AE) in a matchup of teams currently tied for fifth in the league standings with two games left to play.
  • The Hawks held UMBC to 20.8 percent shooting in the first half Saturday and built a 16-point halftime advantage en route to the win.
  • The victory, just the Hawks' second in eight games, kept them in a tie for fifth place with two games left to play. 
  • Senior Joe Zeglinski scored 22 points in the win and ranks 13th all-time in NCAA history with 382 career three-pointers.
  • Hartford ranks 17th nationally in 3-point field goals per game (8.4), 15th in turnover margin (+3.9) and also leads America East in steals (8.0 spg).
  • Stony Brook led Manhattan by as many as 11 in the second half Saturday but allowed the Jaspers to shoot 57 percent after the break and dropped its second straight.
    Sophomore Marcus Rouse scored a team-high 15 points off the bench.
  • Sophomore Leonard Hayes is averaging 9.7 points per game in league play after scoring just 3.1 ppg over his first 16 games of the season.
  • SBU ranks 19th nationally holding opponents to just 39.5 percent shooting from the field, including 30.9 percent from 3-point land, which ranks 26th.

Maine 70, at New Hampshire 53 -- Box Score

  • Maine (15-13, 9-6 AE) shot on 25-for-51 from the field despite going 0-for-8 from behind the arc. The Black Bears held New Hampshire (12-16, 6-9 AE) to 35.3 percent shooting from the field, including a 3-for-20 performance from three-point range.
  • The Black Bears went 20-for-26 from the free throw line while the Wildcats hit just  14-of-24 attempts from the charity stripe.
  • Maine held a 36-30 edge on the glass, but New Hampshire grabbed one more offensive rebound, 14-13, than the Black Bears.
  • Maine was led by junior guard Gerald McLemore, who scored 26 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the floor and 12-for-12 shooting from the line.
  • Senior center Sean McNally scored 14 points and grabbed team-high nine rebounds while forward Troy Barnies added 10 points for Maine.
  • New Hampshire senior center Dane DiLiegro notched a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while guard Tyrone Conley added a team-high 16 points.
