at Vermont 9,
Colgate 4 -- Box Score

  • Vermont held Colgate to just 21 shots and junior goalkeeper made eight stops en route to the win, its fourth in its last five home openers.
  • Sophomore Drew Philie, the reigning America East Rookie of the Year, contributed on six of the goals, tallying four scores and a pair of assists.
  • Junior Thomas Galvin added two goals and as many assists.

Saturday, February 19
UMBC 16, at Presbyterian 10 -- Box Score

  • UMBC (1-0) scored 10 first-half goals and won 25-of-29 draws en route to a win at Presbyterian, its third straight in a road opener.
  • The Blue Hose cut the deficit to 11-10 early in the fourth quarter, but the Retrievers ended the game on a 5-0 run.
  • Sophomores Dave Brown and Scott Jones each scored four goals and  Brown also had three assists.
  • Junior attack Rob Grimm tallied a career-high four assists.

#16/17 UMass 14, at Hartford 10 -- Box Score

  • Hartford (0-1) led, 7-5, at the half but was outscored UMass, 6-1, in the third quarter and fell to 0-9 all-time against the Minutemen.
  • Juniors Ryan Compitello and Aidan Genik each had two goals and an assist.

at Penn State 9, Binghamton 7 -- Box Score

  • Binghamton (0-1) and Penn State were tied at five entering the fourth quarter but the Nittany Lions outscored the Bearcats, 4-2, in the final period and earned the win.
  • Sophomore Matt Springer, who set a program record with 29 goals last season, scored four times for the Bearcats.
