The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) announced its cross country academic awards this week, including all-academic individuals and teams. Four America East women's performers earned 2010 Division I Cross County All-Academic honors, while a total of ten America East men's and women's programs received All-Academic status.
Stony Brook University's Hayley Green, Lucy Van Dalen and Holly Van Dalen, and University of Maine's Corey Conner represented the league on the 99-member Women's All-Academic Team. The Van Dalens were two of the six All-Academics who also earned All-American status at the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the
student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of
3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in
the NCAA region’s top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.
The USTFCCCA also cited 10 America East teams, five men's and five women's as 2010 Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams. On the women's side, the USTFCCCA honored Binghamton (3.49 team GPA), Stony Brook (3.29), Maine (3.60), New Hampshire (3.38) and Vermont (3.43). The men's teams honored were Binghamton (3.33), Stony Brook (3.06), Albany (3.17), Maine (3.21), and Vermont (3.14).
