ALBANY N.Y. -- The 2010-11 season of America East TV continues Monday when SUNY-rivals Stony Brook and Albany meet in men's basketball action in New York's state capital. The two teams are separated by just a half game in the league standings with SBU currently in fourth place and Albany in sixth.

The Seawolves and Great Danes will tip off at 7 p.m. from SEFCU Arena. The game will be televised on MSG-Plus for those in the tri-state area with Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) on the call. All season long, games will also be on ESPN Full Court, ESPN3.com (subject to local  blackout). Due to technical difficulties, tonight's game will not be streamed at AmericaEast.com.

Stony Brook (11-14, 6-7 AE) downed Maine, 71-69, in overtime Saturday in front of a national television audience on ESPNU and a sellout crowd at Stony Brook Arena. Senior guard Bryan Dougher, who scored all 20 of his points in the second half Saturday, paces the Seawolves with 13.5 points per game, which ranks 12th among conference leaders.

Albany (12-15, 5-7 AE), which has won four of its last seven games, shot just 33 percent while allowing Boston U. to shoot 48 percent and fell to the Terriers, 63-44, in the Big Apple Battle at Madison Square Garden Thursday. Senior guard Tim Ambrose scored a team-best 13 points and ranks second among league leaders this season averaging 16.4 points per game.

These SUNY rivals are meeting for the 54th time with Albany holding a 34-19 overall edge and Stony Brook leading the series 13-12 since the programs moved to Division I. The Great Danes snapped a five-game losing skid to the Seawolves with a 52-50 victory on Jan. 17. Ambrose had 15 points and 14 rebounds for Albany, while Dougher scored 20 points, including the 1,000th of his career.

The three-point line will likely play a key factor in Monday's game. The Great Danes shoot a league-best 36.9 percent from the beyond the arc, while Stony Brook's holds opponents to a conference-low 30 percent clip from deep.

Monday's game is the 12th of 15 America East regular-season contests that will be televised regionally this year. In addition, the semifinals of the America East men's and women's championship and the women's title game will be aired. Check out the full schedule.
