*Vermont 59, at Binghamton 58 -- Box Score

  • Vermont senior forward Tonya Young stole the ball with seven seconds remaining and sophomore guard Kristine Lalonde hit a free throw to seal the win for the Catamounts.
  • Vermont (4-21, 4-8 AE) led by as many as 14 points in the first half and held a 29-20 advantage at the break.
  • Binghamton (16-9, 9-3 AE) shot just 21.9 percent from the field in the first half on 7-of-32 shooting. The Bearcats shot better in the second half, shooting 15-for-29 from the field.
  • Sophomore guard Lauren Wheeler led the Catamounts with 22 points on 8-for-17 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Wheeler also grabbed seven rebounds.
  • Young scored 16 points to go along with a team-high eight boards.
  • Binghamton was led by junior forward Viive Rebane, who scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior guard Jackie Ward and junior guard Andrea Holmes each added 12 points.

 

*at Stony Brook 66, Maine 62 -- Box Score

  • Stony Brook (5-19, 2-10 AE) led by as many as 19 points with 11:41 remaining in the second half, but Maine (3-22, 1-12 AE) pulled to within three points, 63-60, with 23 seconds to play before falling short at the end of the game.
  • Stony Brook forced Maine into 32 turnovers, resulting in 30 points for the Seawolves.
  • The Seawolves shot 24-for-40 from the free throw line. The Black Bears shot 14-for-18 from the charity stripe.
  • Senior forward Kirsten Jeter scored a game-high 26 points, including an 10-for-12 performance from the free throw line to lead the Seawolves. She also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Sam Landers and center Juanita Cochran each scored 10 points for Stony Brook.
  • Maine was led by freshman guard Ashleigh Roberts, who scored 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Amber Smith added 11 points for the Black Bears.
