For the first time since 2005, an America East team will host a ranked opponent when Boston University welcomes #25/24 Harvard to Agganis Arena in one of four games on Saturday's slate. Hartford, Maine and UMBC will also be in action.
The Terriers, who had their four-game win streak snapped at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, will face the Crimson at 4 p.m. The game will be televised throughout New England on NESN. Harvard is the first ranked opponent an America East team will face since #23 Nevada visited Patrick Gym and took on Vermont in November of 2005. The Crimson will need to stop Boston U.'s Darryl Partin, the league's leading scorer, who also ranks second nationally averaging 23.9 points per game.
Hartford will host Niagara on Saturday and is still in search of its first win. That game will tip off at 4 p.m. from Chase Arena. UMBC will also try to crack into the win column as it returns from an eight-day layoff and makes the short trip across town to face Towson at 7 p.m.
Maine, which nearly upset Notre Dame on Thursday before falling, 87-78, heads west to take on San Diego in Gerald McLemore's hometown. The senior ranks second in America East and 11th natonally averaging 21.8 points per game.
