In the lone America East men's basketball game of the day Sunday, Maine became the second team in the conference knock off Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island in the last two weeks. The Black Bears beat the Rams, 76-74 in overtime, at the Ryan Center to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Sophomore center Alasdair Fraser had a career day, scoring a career-high 23 points and adding 10 rebounds. Freshman Justin Edwards, the two-time America East Rookie of the Week, added 21 points and seven rebounds.
There will only be one team in action on Monday as Albany heads across town to face rival Siena at the Times Union Center at 7 p.m. The game will be televised in the Captial Region on Time Warner Cable Sports. The Great Danes, who have won back-to-back games and three out of four, are looking for their second straight win against the Saints after snapping a five-game losing skid in the rivalry last season.
