Stony Brook finishes the non-conference schedule tonight at home and hopes to enter America East play on a win streak.
The Seawolves (2-10) host Youngstown State (6-4) at Pritchard Gym at 7 p.m. tonight in the first game since a 65-48 win over Morgan State last Wednesday. Stony Brook would love to roll into Monday's conference-opener against Vermont with its first back-to-back wins of the season, while the Penguins enter tonight's game winners of consecutive contests over Akron and Ohio.
Stony Brook freshman Kellie Krueger continues to impress since entering the starting lineup. Krueger, who picked up her third straight America East Rookie of the Week award yesterday, is averaging a team-tying-best 8.4 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game since first-year head coach Beth O'Boyle inserted her into the starting lineup five games ago. Senior Whitney Davis is the only player to start all 12 games this season for the Seawolves and is averaging a team-high 8.0 points per game.
