Albany, Maine, Vermont Look to Grow Win Streaks Friday

Three America East men's basketball teams are in action Friday and all three are coming off wins in their last outings. Albany will play host to Dartmouth at 2 p.m. while Maine and Vermont hit the road.

The Great Danes, who beat St. Francis, N.Y. their last time out Monday, are looking for their fifth win in their last seven games. The Great Danes are 3-0 at SEFCU Arena this season and have won six straight at home dating back to last season.

The Black Bears go for their third straight win in a five-day stretch when they visit Brown at 2 p.m. Maine overcame a nine-point second-half deficit and climbed over .500 with a 64-60 win over Eastern Illinois Wednesday. Gerald McLemore scored a team-high 21 points and leads America East and ranks eighth nationally averaging 21.5 points per game.

The Catamounts visit Towson for a 7 p.m. tilt. Vermont snapped a five-game losing skid with a 71-53 thrashing of Fairleigh Dickinson Wednesday. Luke Apfeld led four Catamounts in double figures with 14 points. Four McGlynn added 13 and is the league's lone freshman to currently lead his team in scoring. He ranks 16th among conference leaders averaging 11.5 points per game.
