Hartford, Vermont Play on Road Wednesday

With today being the most heavily travel day of the year, it's appropriate both men's basketball teams that are in action take to the road. Hartford will take the short trip to Holy Cross while Vermont plays at Old Dominion.

The young Hawks are still in search of their first win of 2011-12. First-year players make up five of Hartford's top seven scoring leaders and are contributing 71.4 percent of the scoring through four games. Tip time in Worcester is 7 p.m.

The Catamounts are search of their third win in their last four games. Despite shooting 52 percent from the field and putting up 75 points, the Catamounts sent LIU to the free throw line 37 times and fell for the first time in three games Sunday. Freshman Four McGlynn is averaging a team-best 13.8 points per game, which is ninth among league leaders.

Last night, Stony Brook got back in the win column with a 67-53 thrashing of Columbia. The Seawolves outrebounded the Lions, 45-28 and got 12 points from Dave Coley. Albany and UMBC were also in action and fell at George Mason and Central Connecticut State, respectively.
