It was raining three's in Case Gym Tuesday night as the Terriers snapped a two-game losing skid with 75-65 win over cross-town rival Northeastern. Boston U. hit 15 three-pointers of 31 attempts. The reigning Player of the Year, junior guard Chantell Alford scored a team-high 21 points, including five treys, and senior guard Alex Young netted 20 points.
UMBC also got back on the winning track after losing each of the last two games, defeating Loyola across town 60-56. The Retrievers had to rally back after a slow start, and despite shooting just 17.4 percent in the second half, going 22-for-26 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes of the game was enough for UMBC. Senior Michelle Kurowski tallied a team-high 19 points.
Hartford and New Hampshire also picked up wins Tuesday night, both getting back in the win column. Albany traveled to Toledo, who is ranked fifth in the most recent Mid-Major Top-25 Poll, and dropped to 2-3 on the year. Vermont fell earlier in the day to Dartmouth, dropping just its first game of the season.
