CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Career performances by Hartford's Erin Quinlan (Saugus, Mass./The Governors Academy/Syracuse) and New Hampshire's Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) earned the duo America East women's soccer weekly honors Monday. Quinlan picked up Player of the Week honors while Ledwith received Rookie of the Week recognition.

Quinlan earned her second America East Player award of the season after making 15 saves in a pair of shutout victories last week, her eighth and ninth clean sheets of the season. The sophomore goalkeeper stopped eight Binghamton shots, which tied her career high, to preserve a 1-0 win for the Hawks on Thursday. Quinlan, who also earned weekly honors on Sept. 19, then made seven saves in a 3-0 victory over New Hampshire on Sunday to help the Hawks stay unbeaten at 10-0-2. The transfer from Syracuse leads America East and ranks second nationally in goals-against average (0.17), save percentage (.968) and shutouts (9).

Ledwith became the first America East Rookie to notch five points in a game in over two years and earned Rookie of the Week honors for her efforts. The freshman forward scored twice and added an assist despite playing just 38 minutes in New Hampshire’s 5-3 win at Albany Thursday. She struck twice from the top of the box, in the 22nd and 47th minutes, and assisted on UNH’s second score in the 38th minute to help the Wildcats establish a 3-0 lead. Ledwith, who also recorded a shot on goal in 49 minutes of action during a loss to Hartford Sunday, leads UNH and is tied for ninth among league leaders with nine points on three goals and two assists.

Heading into the third week of conference play, Boston U. and Hartford sit tied atop the league standings at 3-0-0. The Terriers beat Vermont (5-0) and Maine (2-1) last week, while the Hawks downed Binghamton (1-0) and UNH (3-0).

Albany (2-9-0, 0-1-0 AE)
dropped its sixth and seventh consecutive games, falling in America East Conference play to New Hampshire, 5-3, on the road, before losing a non-league tilt to Bryant, 2-1, at home ... Senior Rebecca Lee (Selkirk, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) scored three of the Great Danes’ four goals on the week ... She netted the lone goal against Bryant and added two scores versus New Hampshire ... Senior Chrissy Klepper (River Edge, N.J./River Dell) added the third goal against the Wildcats ... Goalkeepers Dani Britt (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) and Jackie Ubert (Amityville, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) each played a full game in the net for the Great Danes ... Britt made six saves against New Hampshire on Thursday, while Ubert stopped seven shots between the pipes against Bryant on Sunday ... The Great Danes will continue America East Conference play on Thursday, hosting Binghamton, before visiting Vermont on Sunday.

Binghamton (4-6-1, 1-1-1 AE)
posted a tie and a loss in two home games during the week. The Bearcats lost 1-0 to Hartford before settling for a scoreless draw with Stony Brook ... Against Hartford, Binghamton held a 14-9 shots advantage but yielded a goal in the game’s 19th minute. All six of the team’s losses have come by the identical 1-0 score ... The shots were even more lopsided against the Seawolves, when the Bearcats peppered their visitors with 17 shots but couldn’t find the back of the net despite numerous golden opportunities ... Sophomore keeper Carrie Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) needed to make just two saves for her fourth solo shutout of the season. Martin has a 0.48 goals against average and a save percentage of 90 percent, which ranks second among league leaders. No opponent has scored more than one goal against Martin and her stellar back line ... Next up is a three-game road swing beginning with games at Albany and reigning champion Boston U. next week. The Bearcats are 8-1-1 all-time against Albany but are 1-10 against the Terriers.

Boston University (10-2-1, 3-0-0 AE)
extended its winning streak to five games with back-to-back wins over Vermont, 5-0, and Maine, 2-1, last week … BU has now won 18 straight games against America East foes and 36 of its last 37 matches against conference opponents … Senior Jessica Luscinski (Bedford, N.H./Trinity) scored two goals and added an assist in the Terriers’ victory over UVM, taking over sole possession of sixth place among Boston U.’s all-time leading scorers … Sophomores Emma Clark (York, Maine/York) and Madison Clemens (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and senior Tiya Gallegos (Lakewood, Calif./Mayfair) also found the back of the net … Senior goalkeeper Alice Binns (Dorchester, Mass./Beaver Country Day) made one save to earn the victory and sophomore Andrea Green (Nashua, N.H./Derryfield School) finished the final 20 minutes to complete the shutout … On Sunday, Boston U. held off a late rally Maine rally, to earn a 2-1 win behind goals from Gallegos and freshman Taylor Krebs (Dove Canyon, Calif./ Santa Margarita Catholic) … BU will next take on New Hampshire on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 3:30 p.m. in Durham, N.H.

Hartford (10-0-2, 3-0-0 AE)
continued its unbeaten season with their eighth and ninth shutouts of the season, defeating Binghamton (1-0) on the road Thursday and New Hampshire (3-0) at home Sunday ... junior Amelia Pereira (Madeira Island, Portugal/Escola da APEL) and senior Mary Beth Hamilton (Columbia, Conn./Mercy) tied for the team lead over the two matches with three total points each on a goal and assist from both ... Pereira’s goal proved to the game-winner in the home win over New Hampshire, while Mary Beth’s came late in the game and provided a third insurance goal ... junior Caitlin Alves (Ludlow, Mass./The Williston Northampton School) provided the game-winner and only goal in the Hawks first action of the week in Vestal, N.Y. ... senior Amanda Lo Bello (Garden Grove, Calif./Garden Grove) also got in on the scoring action with her first goal as a Hawk, the second of three against New Hampshrie ... rookie Chanel Johnson also picked up her first point as a Hawks, providing an assist on Lo Bello’s goal ... Hawks sophomore keeper Erin Quinlan (Saugus, Mass./The Governors Acad./Syracuse) faced a total of 28 shots over the two games, with 15 of them forcing the transfer into action with eight saves against Binghamton and seven against New Hampshire ... the eight saves agianst the Bearcats tied the first-year keeper’s season and career highs ... the Hawks will play one game over the next 11 days, welcoming Stony Brook to Alumni Stadium on Thursday at 6 p.m.

dropped a 2-1 decision to defending America East champion Boston University on Sunday afternoon ... It was a rematch of the 2010 America East title game ... Maddie Hill (Brampton, Ontario) scored the lone goal for the Black Bears ... It was the second goal of the season for Hill ... Former Maine great and current Black Bear assistant coach Linda ‘Consolante’ Hathorn was inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame on Friday night ... Hathorn becomes the first women’s soccer play erselected to the Hall of Fame ... Maine plays a pair of games this week ... went 0-1-1 last week … The Retrievers dropped a 4-1 decision at Stony Brook on Thursday … Junior forward Rachel McKee (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) gave the Retrievers a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, but the Seawolves scored four unanswered goals … Sophomore goalie Lauren Kadet (Oakville, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) recorded seven saves… The Retrievers earned their first point in the America East standings this season with a 2-2 double-overtime draw with Vermont on Sunday … McKee scored both of UMBC’s goals in the game, tying the game at 1-1 in the 20th minute, then giving the Retrievers a 2-1 lead late in the first half … It was the first multi-goal game by a Retriever since Sandra Vacarino scored twice against New Hampshire on Oct. 22, 2009, and it was the first multi-point effort since Vacarino tallied a goal and an assist against Delaware State on Aug. 20, 2010 … Junior forward Sarah Kopytko (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) was credited with the assist on McKee’s first tally … UMBC scored two goals in a game for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Vermont on Sept. 26, 2010, which was also the last time the Retrievers earned a point in an America East contests … McKee leads the Retrievers with five goals and 10 points this season, the most by a Retriever since Morgan Warrington scored five goals and 11 points in 2008… Kadet has 167 saves in her career, raking sixth all-time at UMBC, while senior Mo Van Vlerah (Germantown, Md./Northwest) is eighth with 160 … After a week off, the Retrievers visit America East rival Maine on Sunday.

New Hampshire (3-8-1, 1-1-0 AE)
finished its most recent week of action 1-1 ... the Wildcats finished the week with a 3-0 loss to the University of Hartford on Oct. 2 at Yousuf Al-Marzook Field ... Stephanie Gilkenson (Cranston, R.I./LaSalle Academy) led the New Hampshire attack with a game-best five shots, including four on goal attempts ... UNH outshot Hartford 14-8 in the contest, putting seven shots on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net ... In the game prior, freshman Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) tallied five points on two goals and an assist, leading the Wildcats to a 5-3 victory over the University at Albany on Sept. 29 at Lewis Fields ... 10 different Wildcats tallied points in the win, as UNH posted its highest goal total of the season … Ledwith’s five points are the highest single-game point total posted by any player in the conference this year ... She has now found the back of the net in two of the last three games, and currently leads the squad with eight points on three goals and two assists ... The Wildcats return to action Thursday, Oct. 6 (3:30 p.m.) when they return home to host Boston University at Lewis Fields.

Stony Brook (3-8-1, 1-1-1 AE)
picked up four points last week with a 4-1 home win over UMBC on Thursday and a 0-0 draw at Binghamton on Sunday ... freshman Regan Bosnyak (Newington, Conn./Northwest Catholic) scored her first two collegiate goals to help Stony Brook earn its first America East win of the season against the Retrievers ... After UMBC took a 1-0 lead, Bosnyak scored the game-tying goal in the 36th minute with a 24-yard blast into the left side-netting ... Bosnyak then added a second in the 63rd minute, finishing off a cross from freshman Shannon Grogan (Eastampton, N,J./Holy Cross H.S.)...freshman Eliza Mendoza (Fontana, Calif./Etiwanda) also scored her first goal as a Seawolf in the win ... Stony Brook attempted a season-high 28 shots against UMBC and scored four goals for the first time since Sept. 19, 2010 vs. Manhattan ... Stony Brook earned its first clean-sheet of the season on Sunday with a 0-0 result at Binghamton ... sophomore Chelsea Morales (Temecula, Calf./Temecula Valley) made nine saves for her fourth career shutout ... Vermont (3-6-4, 1-1-1 AE)
dropped a 5-0 decision at Boston U and played to a 2-2 draw at UMBC this week ... UVM’s four draws this season are the most since the 2003 campaign (5-9-4) ... The school record for ties is five in 1986 (7-6-5) ... Sophomore Ellie Mills (Arlington, Va. / Washington-Lee) and freshman Alexandra Dezenzo (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) each scored their team-leading third goal of the season in the tie at UMBC ... Vermont begins a three-game homestand on Thursday (Oct. 6) when it hosts Maine at 3 p.m. ... The Catamounts will also face Albany at Centennial Field on Sunday (Oct. 9) at 2 p.m.
