  • In an all-time series that began in 2004, Maine holds the 8-6 advantage heading into the 15th overall meeting. UMBC has won the last five, sweeping the regular-season series in each of the past two year.
  • UMBC junior Michelle Kurowski leads the conference with 14.6 ppg, while classmate Erin Brown is fourth in America East with 13.3. Brown has also had a lot of success against the Black Bears in the past, averaging 13.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg and shooting .500 in four games against Maine.
  • Maine freshman Ashleigh Roberts is on a roll, scoring in double-digit points in six straight games, including 18 points last time out against conference foe Hartford.

  • In what is one of the oldest rivalries in the conference, Boston U. and Vermont meet for the 66th time. The Terriers hold the 35-30 edge, while Vermont took two of three meetings last year, including a semifinal contest at the America East Championship.
  • The Terriers lead America East in three statistical categories including scoring offense (61.4), assists (13.4 apg) and assist-turnover ratio (0.8). Second in three-pointers made per game (6.6), Boston U. has hit multiple three-pointers in every game this season.
  • Vermont freshman Jasmine Cooper has made the last six starts after coming off the bench to begin the season. In the last six games she has averaged 7.8 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

  • Binghamton has swept the last three years' series with New Hampshire and have a 14-5 advantage in the all-time series. UNH is looking for its first win over the Bearcats since 2007, as well as its first road win of the season.
  • Wildcat Denise Beliveau, who is averaging 36.6 minutes per game, ranks in the conference's top five in scoring and rebounding (13.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg).
  • The Bearcats wrap up a season-high three-game homestand, where they are undefeated this season. They've outscored (+12.2) and outrebounded (+8.0) opponents at the Events Center in five games already this season.

Saturday, January 8
*Albany 46, at Hartford 43 - Boxscore

  • After trailing by as many as 13, Hartford tied the game up at 41-41 before Albany's Casssandra Callaway put the Hawks away with a huge three-pointer. It was the Great Danes' first win over Hartford since 2005, and it snapped the Hawk's 21-game regular season conference win streak.
  • Albany held Hartford to .315 shooting from the field and just .250 from beyond the three-point line.
  • Junior guard Felicia Johnson led the Great Danes with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting. Callaway added 12 points, a career-high eight rebounds, and four steals.
  • Hartford was led by a double-double from sophomore forward Ruthanne Doherty, who scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Daphne Elliott also added 12 points.


Thursday, January 6
*at Binghamton 63, Stony Brook 43 - Boxscore

  • Binghamton held Stony Brook to a .232 shooting percentage, hitting 16-of-69 field-goal attempts and 4-of-22 from behind the arc.
  • The Bearcats dominated the boards, outrebounding the Seawolves, 60-42.
  • Two Bearcats posted double-double performances. Junior guard Andrea Holmes scored 13 points and ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds while freshman guard Jasbriell Swain scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
  • Junior forward Viive Rebane led the Bearcats with 14 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Senior guard Jackie Ward added 10 points.
  • Stony Brook was paced by sophomore guard Sam Landers with a game-high 16 points. Sophomore center Juanita Cochran posted 10 points and 10 rebounds of the bench.


*Boston U. 63, at New Hampshire 43 - Boxscore

  • Boston U. forced 20 New Hampshire turnovers and scored 20 points off those turnovers.
  • Despite the loss, New Hampshire outrebounded the Terriers, 41-35 overall and 13-9 on the offensive glass. However, the Wildcats scored only four second-chance points compared to eight for the Terriers.
  •  Junior forward Caroline Stewart went 9-for-11 from the field as she scored a career-high 19 points to lead the Terriers. Stewart also grabbed 10 boards for her second double-double of the season. Sophomore guard Chantell Alford added 14 points.
  • New Hampshire center Jill McDonald scored a team-high 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Junior forward Denise Beliveau scored 10 points and also grabbed eight rebounds.
