- This game is a rematch of last year's conference quarterfinal contest which the Seawolves won, 71-62, however the Bearcats do lead the all-time series, 17-11. The two teams split last year's two regular season meetings.
- Two unanimous preseason all-conference picks will be squaring off on other sides of the court. Binghamton junior guard Andrea Holmes is averaging 13.6 ppg, third in the conference, and 4.2 apg. Stony Brook senior forward Kirsten Jeter is also in the league's top 10 scoring in ninth with 11.5 ppg to along with 7.2 rpg.
- The Seawolves and Bearcats are also two of the better rebounding teams in the conference. Stony Brook leads America East with 39.2 rpg, while Binghamton ranks second with 38.4 rpg.

- In this vintage rivalry dating back to 1977-78, the Terriers and Wildcats have met 62 times prior to tonight. Boston U. leads the all-time series, 33-29 and have won 14 of the last 18 meetings.
- Boston U. is looking for its first win on the road this season, while all of New Hampshire's victories this season have come in the comfortable confines of Lundholm Gymnasium.
- This game features two of the top shot-blockers in America East in UNH senior Jill McDonald and Boston U. senior Kerry Cashman. McDonald has registered 20 swats this season and ranks second in the conference, while Cashman has 18 and is third.

- Going into the break with a 25-19 lead, Hartford used .667 second-half field-goal shooting to blow up the game, doubling up Maine in the second half, 48-24.
- Of the four Hartford double-digit scorers, three came off the bench, including 13 each from senior Mary Silvia and junior Ilicia Mathis. The Hawks' bench combined for 50 points.
- Hartford dished out 19 assists on 25 field goals as opposed to Maine's two helpers on 14 field goals. Sophomore forward Nikkia Smith and freshman guard Alyssa Englert each totaled a game-high four assists.
- Maine freshman guard Ashleigh Roberts was the lone Black Bear in twin-figured scoring with a game-high 18 points. She went 7-for-12 from the field.
