Monday, January 17
Binghamton at Albany, 7 p.m.
- The Bearcats and Great Danes renew their SUNY rivalry Thursday. The Bearcats have won three straight in the series.
- Binghamton (6-12, 3-2 America East) was outscored, 40-20, in the first half and trailed
Hartford by as many as 31 points Monday in dropping its second straight
contest.
- Junior center Kyrie Sutton recorded his first career double-double as he tallied career highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds.
- Senior Greer Wright, who ranks eighth among league leaders averaging
14.6 points per game, returned to the lineup after missing four games
due to injury.
- Albany (9-12, 2-4 America East) snapped a four-game losing skid with a win at Stony Brook Monday. Albany held on despite not hitting a field goal and scoring just one point over the final 9:45 of the contest.
- Senior guard Tim Ambrose scored a team-best 15 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
- Albany ranks sixth in the league in scoring defense, allowing 66.3 points per game but have surrendered just 58.1 points per contest in its nine wins.
UMBC at Hartford, 7 p.m.
- UMBC visits Hartford Thursday and has won four of its last five games against the Hawks, who are seeking their best America East start since the 1996-97 squad began league play 5-1.
- UMBC (2-16, 1-4 America East) snapped a four-game losing skid and earned their first league
win of the season Monday.
- The Retrievers outscored Boston U., 16-3, down the
stretch to secure the win.
- Hartford (6-11, 3-1 America East) hit an America East season-high 15 three-pointers at Binghamton Monday and posted their fourth win in five games.
- Senior Joe Zeglinski scored 26 points and moved into 17th place on the league's all-time scoring list with 1,825 career points
- Hartford ranks in the top-20 nationally in turnover ratio (+4.4) and also leads America East in steals (7.8 spg).
- UMBC Junior Chris De La Rosa (17. 3 ppg, 6.1 apg) leads America East
averaging 22.8 points per game in conference play. He is one of just
four players in the country who ranks in the top 20 in assists per game
and in the top 100 in points per game.
Vermont at New Hampshire, 7 p.m.
- Vermont and New Hampshire face off Thursday in Durham. UVM has dominated the rivalry winning 85-of-132 all-time meetings.
- The Catamounts (12-5, 3-2 America East) had their 14-game home court win streak stopped by Maine Tuesday.
- Senior Evan Fjeld tallied his third double-double of the season (18 points, 10 rebounds).
- Freshman Brian Voelkel contributed four points, 12 rebounds and four assists. He leads the league in rebounding (10.1 rpg), and ranks second in assists (4.8 apg) and steals (1.8 spg).
- UNH (7-10, 1-4 America East) shot just 30 percent from the field and fell to Stony Brook in double-overtime Saturday.
- Junior foward Brian Benson pulled down a career-high 22 rebounds, the fifth-most ever by a player in an America East contest.
- Head coach Bill Herrion is the league's active wins leader in conference play with 138 career victories.
Stony Brook at Boston University, 7:30 p.m.
- The Seawolves travel to Boston University Thursday and seek their fourth straight regular-season win over the Terriers, who upset the top-seeded Seawolves, 70-63, in the semifinals of the America East Championship to advance to their first league final since 2003.
- Stony Brook (7-10, 2-3 America East) was outrebounded 45-29 and fell for the fourth time in five games Monday.
- Junior guard Bryan Dougher scored a game-high 20 points and reached the 1,000-point milestone.
- Sophomore Marcus Rouse added 10 points and has reached twin figures in six of his last eight outings.
- The Seawolves lead America East in field goal percentage defense (.388).
- Boston U. (7-11, 3-2 America East) were outcored, 16-3, over the final 4:45 of its game at UMBC Monday and had their three-game win streak snapped.
- John Holland, the league's leading scorer (19.1 ppg), has tallied 20-plus points in each of his last four games.
- Junior Darryl Partin is averaging 17.6 points per game in conference play.

Maine 72, At Vermont 58 -- Box Score
- Maine (11-7, 5-1 America East) earned its first
road win at Vermont (12-5, 3-2 America East) since the 2006-07 season, pulling
off the impressive 72-58 victory at Patrick Gym.

Maine junior guard Gerald McLemore became the 29th
player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career. McLemore
scored 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting in the win.

Senior forward Troy Barnies led the Black Bears
with 14 points and nine rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

The Black Bears delivered on the defensive end,
limiting Vermont to only 35.8 percent shooting from the field.

Vermont senior forward Evan Fjeld scored a
game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double.
Monday, January 17
at UMBC 71, Boston U. 67 -- Box Score
- UMBC
(2-16, 1-4 in America East) erased a nine-point deficit with 4:45
remaining to beat Boston U. (8-11, 3-2 AE) at home. The Retrievers
outscored the Terriers, 16-3, over that span to close out the game.
- UMBC
shot 48.9 percent from the field, including 10-for-21 from long range,
while holding Boston U. to 39.3 percent shooting from the floor.
- UMBC
junior guard Chris De La Rosa scored a team-high 23 points on 9-of-16
shooting while also dishing out five assists. Sophomore forward Adrian
Satchell scored 11 points, with the last two coming on a pair of free
throws with six seconds remaining to seal the victory.
- Boston
U. was led by senior forward John Holland with 24 points on 8-of-19
shooting. Junior guard Darryl Partin added 18 points while Matt Griffin
scored 15 points off the bench.
- Freshman guard D.J. Irving dished out 10 assists for the Terriers.
Albany 52, at Stony Brook 50 -- Box Score
- Stony Brook junior guard Bryan Dougher missed a three-pointer at the buzzer as Albany (9-12, 2-4 AE) held on for the win.
- Stony
Brook (7-10, 2-3 AE) trailed by 11 points with 9:46 remaining before
cutting the deficit to one. Albany did not hit a field goal in the last
ten minutes of the game. Their only point came on a free throw by John
Puk with 17 seconds to play.
- Albany outrebounded Stony Brook, 45-29, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds compared to eight for the Seawolves.
- Senior
guard Tim Ambrose led the way for the Great Danes, scoring 14 points
and pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Logan Aronhalt
added 11 points.
- Dougher
reached the 1,000-point milestone as he scored a game-high 20 points on
6-of-17 shooting from the field, including 6-of-13 from behind the arc.
Hartford 72, at Binghamton 61 -- Box Score
- Hartford
(6-11, 3-1 AE) shot 47.3 percent from the floor and hit 15
three-pointers while holding Binghamton (6-12, 3-2 AE) to 36.8 percent
field-goal shooting.
- The
Bearcats outrebounded the Hawks, 40-29, holding a 13-4 edge on the
offensive glass. The Bearcats scored 14 second-chance points.
- Senior
guard Joe Zeglinski led the Hawks, scoring 26 points while hitting
7-of-11 three-point attempts. Senior guard Milton Burton added 13 points
while also grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out five assists and
racking up five steals.
- The
Bearcats were led by junior center Kyrie Sutton, who scored 21 points on
8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds. Senior forward Moussa Camara
added 10 points for Binghamton.
